Sword Master is a 1990 side-scrolling action game developed by Athena and published by Activision for the Nintendo Entertainment System. It was first released in Japan in 1990, North America in 1992, and PAL regions in 1993. The game is set in medieval fantasy setting and focuses primarily on strategic fighting using shield and sword. The game is also one of the NES games to include parallax scrolling.
Sword Master establishes the tale of an evil wizard in league with a monstrous demon who have dared to kidnap a damsel. The Sword Master is a knight who seeks to rescue the fair lady and destroy the evil people and creatures in the castle in which they dwell.
